PREAMBLE
The CPM Disaster Risk Reduction and Community Resilience training is a two-week intensive programme designed to equip participants with the knowledge, practical skills and tools required to identify disaster risks, reduce vulnerability, strengthen community preparedness and support effective response and recovery.
The training explores disaster risk management from a community-based perspective, focusing on risk assessment, hazard identification, vulnerability analysis, preparedness planning, early warning systems, climate-related risks, community participation and resilient development. Participants will learn how communities, government institutions, NGOs and development partners can work together to reduce disaster impacts and build stronger, more adaptive communities.
The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical exercises, case studies, group discussions and scenario-based activities to enable participants to apply disaster risk reduction principles in their own communities and organisations.
